Karli Kardashian...?

With all the hype surrounding Kylie Jenner’s “hidden” pregnancy scandal I figured I should weigh in. For starters, I have a confession. I watch Keeping Up with the Kardashian’s every Sunday. What started as a mindless TV show playing in the background on repeat has now turned into my guilty pleasure. I guess there could be worse things…right?

Anyways, I guess you could say I’m an avid viewer and by avid… I mean I have it recorded. I’m so committed I will pause the show to answer any questions by fellow watchers, who seem to not follow the show apparently, so I don’t miss a thing. The show makes me feel like somehow I personally know the Kardashian’s (I don’t). I find myself explaining to my unknowledgeable guests in great detail each character’s whole life story like we just caught up over lunch at Nobu the other day. Exposing this information to you is sort of liberating and terrifying at the same time. On one hand, I feel free finally sharing the joy I get of “keeping” up with the Kardashians (see what I did there). On the other hand, I know people have their strong opinions about this bunch and may find my guilty pleasure shallow. And to that c’est la vie. Like I mentioned above, there could be worse things.

The truth is I find the Kardashian clan entertaining. Even though people will argue that their show isn’t authentic I must say how unauthentic can you get when you’re constantly being recorded all the time by your media crew and the press. The biggest jab at the Kardashian’s I often hear, and they mock, is the fact that they have no talent. However, how sick would it be to make millions of dollars by possessing “no talent.” Obviously, I disagree on the no talent argument because heck it takes talent to make something out of nothing. Being rich and famous for the simplistic reason of being rich and famous doesn’t sound like half a bad gig to me.

In reality, I think that these ladies are somewhat inspiring. Clearly, we all have our favorite, Khloe, but that’s not what truly matters. What truly matters is the fact that I fit into the family perfectly because my name is Karli and it happens to start with a K and even my last name does too (which I’d obviously change to Kardashian if I was adopted for endorsement purposes). But on a more serious note, these ladies have grown their empire and made a name for themselves in the process. I appreciate how dedicated and loyal they are to their family through thick and thin (literally thick and thin they have dealt with murder, death, scandal, transitions, short marriages, robberies and now hidden pregnancies). Whether you associate the Kardashian name as a positive or negative is completely up to you. I truthfully don’t think their feelings will be hurt regardless. As for me however, I’ll let you know once we catch up next Sunday.
